A 10-day stay in Versilia for your group: 7 nights in Lido di Camaiore, Viareggio, Lucca, Pisa and the Cinque Terre.

Versilia is the Tuscan coast between the sea and the Apuan Alps, whose white marble quarries gleam above the beaches. Your group stays 7 nights on half board in Lido di Camaiore, a quiet resort next to Viareggio, the town of the famous carnival and the Liberty-style promenade. Excursions lead to Lucca and its tree-lined walls, to the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa and its leaning tower, to the colourful villages of the Cinque Terre and to Pietrasanta, the little town of sculptors. Associations, clubs, societies or groups of friends from 20 participants, departing from the place of your choice in Belgium.

Programme

Day 1: Departure from Belgium

  • Departure in the late afternoon from the place of your choice.
  • Overnight journey to Italy with two drivers on board (double crew): no more than 3 hours of driving, then a 30-minute break.
  • Alternative with an overnight stop on the way, outbound and return (on request).

Day 2: Arrival in Lido di Camaiore

  • Arrival in the late morning and check-in at a 3-star hotel near the beach for 7 nights, on a half-board basis.
  • Free afternoon to rest after the journey and discover the beach.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Lido di Camaiore and Viareggio

  • Free morning on the beach and promenade of Lido di Camaiore.
  • In the afternoon, Viareggio (about 10 minutes): the seafront promenade with its Liberty-style buildings, home of the famous carnival.
  • Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Lucca

  • Drive to Lucca (about 30 minutes).
  • Walk on the tree-lined walls and through the old town: Piazza dell’Anfiteatro and the Guinigi Tower crowned with holm oaks.
  • Guided tour of Lucca, Giacomo Puccini’s home town (on request).
  • Free time, then return to Lido di Camaiore.

Day 5: Free day in Lido di Camaiore

  • Free day for the beach, the seafront promenade or the old town, at your own pace (drivers’ rest day, no coach).

Day 6: Pisa

  • Drive to Pisa (about 40 minutes).
  • Discovery of the Piazza dei Miracoli: the cathedral, the baptistery and the leaning tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Climb up the leaning tower (on request).
  • Free time in the centre and along the Arno, then return to Lido di Camaiore.

Day 7: The Cinque Terre

  • Drive to La Spezia (about 1 hour).
  • Discovery of the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, by local train or boat depending on the season and weather: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso.
  • Return by coach to Lido di Camaiore in the evening.

Day 8: Pietrasanta and Carrara marble

  • Morning in Pietrasanta (about 15 minutes), a small town of artists and marble sculpture workshops.
  • Visit to a Carrara marble quarry (on request).
  • Free afternoon at the beach.

Day 9: Journey home

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
  • Departure in the late morning and overnight journey with a double crew, with a break of at least 30 minutes every 3 hours of driving.

Day 10: Back in Belgium

  • Arrival in your home area in the morning.

Good to know

  • Departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point; bring a small pillow and comfortable clothes for the overnight journey.
  • A valid identity card and a European Health Insurance Card for each participant.
  • The climb up the Tower of Pisa is booked for a fixed time; the Cinque Terre are reached without the coach (train or boat).
  • Swimwear, towel, sun cream and walking shoes; stays possible from May to September, currency: euro.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
