Benicàssim and Oropesa for groups: Costa del Azahar, Valencia and Peñíscola (12 days)

Day 1: Departure from Belgium

• Departure in the late afternoon from the place of your choice.
• Overnight journey to Spain with two drivers on board (double crew): no more than 3 hours of driving, then a 30-minute break.
• Alternative with an overnight stop on the way, outbound and return (on request).

Day 2: Arrival in Benicàssim

• Arrival in the late morning and check-in at a 3-star hotel near the beach for 9 nights, on a half-board basis.
• Free afternoon to rest after the journey and discover the beach.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Benicàssim and the Route of the Villas

• Stroll along the seafront and the Route of the Villas, summer residences from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
• Free afternoon at the beach.

Day 4: The greenway to Oropesa

• Morning walk on the coastal greenway, a former railway line between Benicàssim and Oropesa del Mar (about 6 km), along the coves.
• Bike hire to ride the greenway (on request).
• Discovery of Oropesa del Mar: the old village, the 16th-century Torre del Rey and La Concha beach.
• Return by coach to Benicàssim.

Day 5: Free day in Benicàssim

• Free day for the beach, the seafront promenade or the old town, at your own pace (drivers’ rest day, no coach).

Day 6: Valencia

• Drive to Valencia (about 1 hour).
• Panoramic tour to the City of Arts and Sciences, in the former bed of the River Turia.
• Walk through the historic centre: the cathedral and its bell tower, the Micalet, the UNESCO-listed Silk Exchange and the Central Market.
• Visit to the Oceanogràfic, the large aquarium of the City of Arts and Sciences (on request).
• Return in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Desierto de las Palmas and Castellón

• Mountain drive to the Desierto de las Palmas nature park above Benicàssim, with a stop at the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites.
• Panorama over the coast and the plain of Castellón.
• In the afternoon, Castellón de la Plana: the Plaza Mayor, Santa María cathedral and the Fadrí bell tower.
• Return to Benicàssim in the late afternoon.

Day 8: Free day in Benicàssim

• Free day for the beach, the seafront promenade or the old town, at your own pace (drivers’ rest day, no coach).

Day 9: Peñíscola

• Drive to Peñíscola (about 1 hour).
• Walk up into the fortified old town on its rock surrounded by the sea.
• Visit to the castle of Pope Luna, last residence of the antipope Benedict XIII (on request).
• Free time at the harbour, then return to Benicàssim.

Day 10: Free day in Benicàssim

• Free day for the beach, the seafront promenade or the old town, at your own pace (drivers’ rest day, no coach).

Day 11: Journey home

• Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
• Departure in the late morning and overnight journey with a double crew, with a break of at least 30 minutes every 3 hours of driving.

Day 12: Back in Belgium

• Arrival in your home area in the morning.
