Three Christmas days: Luxembourg’s Winterlights, the Saar Loop, Villeroy & Boch china in Mettlach and Saarbrücken’s market.
This three-day trip links the Grand Duchy with neighbouring Saarland, with short drives and a single hotel for the whole stay. On the first evening, your group discovers Luxembourg City’s Winterlights, between the Place d’Armes and the big wheel on the Place de la Constitution. The next day, the coach stops at the Cloef viewpoint above the famous Saar Loop, then in Mettlach, where Villeroy & Boch presents its porcelain and earthenware in a former abbey. The afternoon is devoted to Saarbrücken’s Christmas market, set up on the St. Johanner Markt, one of the prettiest squares in town. On the last morning, a gentle walk through Luxembourg’s old town comes before the return, arriving home in the early evening.
Programme
Day 1: Drive to Luxembourg and Winterlights
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Drive to Luxembourg, with a coffee break on the way (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
- Seated lunch on the way or in Luxembourg City (on request).
- Check-in at the hotel in the Luxembourg area for 2 nights.
- In the late afternoon, free time at the Winterlights, Place d’Armes and Place de la Constitution.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Saar Loop, Mettlach and Saarbrücken
- Breakfast, then drive to Saarland.
- Stop at the Cloef viewpoint above the Saar Loop (short, easy walk from the car park).
- Visit to the Villeroy & Boch discovery centre in the former abbey of Mettlach (on request).
- Seated lunch in Mettlach (on request).
- Drive to Saarbrücken and free time at the Christmas market on the St. Johanner Markt.
- Guided tour of the old town and the Baroque Ludwigskirche (on request).
- Return to the hotel in the early evening, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Luxembourg old town and return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of the old town: Grand Ducal Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Chemin de la Corniche (on request).
- Last free time at the Christmas market.
- Departure in the early afternoon and return to your region in the evening.

Good to know
- A valid identity card is required for each participant; departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point.
- Walking level: easy (flat pedestrian centres; some cobblestones and gentle slopes in Luxembourg City).
- Wheelchair users or guests with reduced mobility: please let us know when booking so that we can adapt the programme. As you travel abroad, bring your usual medication and your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
- Christmas markets run from late November to late December, to be checked depending on the year; bring warm clothing.
