Six Christmas days in northern Poland: the market in Toruń, the gingerbread town, then Gdańsk lit up along the Motława.

At Christmas, the Hanseatic towns of northern Poland are decked out with lights and wooden chalets. Your group begins in Toruń, Copernicus’s town, where the Christmas market sets up at the foot of the Gothic town hall and gingerbread has been king since the Middle Ages. In Gdańsk, the Christmas market is held near the Long Market and the Golden Gate, a short walk from the illuminated quays of the Motława. The tall merchants’ houses, the Neptune Fountain and the old crane form a fairy-tale setting. Overnight stops near Berlin, two nights in Gdańsk and a free day on site ensure a relaxed pace despite the distance.
