Four Christmas days in Łódź: illuminated Piotrkowska Street, Christmas market, decorated Manufaktura and the Herbst Palace rooms.
In December, the long Piotrkowska Street, the heart of Łódź, is decked with garlands of lights from end to end, and a Christmas market is set up in the centre. Your group discovers this former textile capital, whose industrialists left sumptuous palaces: that of Izrael Poznański, now the City Museum, and the Herbst Palace, with rooms furnished as in the 19th century. Close by, Manufaktura, a former brick factory turned into a large place for strolling, hosts decorations and festive events, sheltered from the cold. Visits take place on flat ground and leave free time every afternoon. Two drivers take turns on the long journey, and the same half-board hotel welcomes you for three nights.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Łódź
- Morning departure from the place of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Drive through Germany via Hanover and Berlin, then via Poznań, arriving in Łódź in the evening and checking in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Piotrkowska Street and the Christmas market
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of Piotrkowska Street and its façades (on request).
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Free afternoon at the city-centre Christmas market.
- Tasting of mulled wine (grzaniec) and gingerbread at the market (on request).
- Stroll at nightfall under the illuminations of Piotrkowska Street.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Poznański Palace, Manufaktura and Herbst Palace
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Visit to Izrael Poznański’s palace, now the City Museum.
- Free time at the nearby Manufaktura, decorated for the festive season.
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Short drive to Księży Młyn and visit to the Herbst Palace Museum and its 19th-century rooms.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Early-morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.

- A valid identity card and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.
- Departure and return times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; currency: Polish złoty (PLN), cards widely accepted.
- Walking level: easy (flat city, Piotrkowska Street largely pedestrian); the location of the Christmas market may change from year to year.
- Christmas markets run from late November to late December, dates to be checked each year; bring warm clothes and non-slip shoes.
