Four Christmas days in Poznań: Advent market, illuminated Old Market Square, the noon goats, the cathedral and a croissant workshop.
During Advent, Poznań puts on its festive best: the Christmas market stalls are set up in the centre around Liberty Square, and the Old Market Square glows with lights around its Renaissance town hall. At noon, your group watches the famous duel of the two mechanical goats in the tower, then discovers at the living Croissant Museum how the St Martin’s croissant, filled with poppy-seed paste, is made. A visit to the island of Ostrów Tumski and the cathedral, where the first Polish rulers rest, brings a moment of calm. The rest of the time is free to enjoy the market, the mulled wine and the decorations. Two drivers take turns on the journey, and the same half-board hotel welcomes you for three nights.
