Five days in South Bohemia: Advent in Český Krumlov, a UNESCO-listed town, the great square of České Budějovice and Regensburg.
Nestled in a bend of the Vltava beneath its huge castle, Český Krumlov is one of the most beautiful small towns in Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage site. During Advent, its Christmas market sets up on the main square, and the snowy or frosted roofs make it look like a giant nativity scene. Your group spends two nights there, discovers the old town with a guide and visits České Budějovice, whose arcaded square is one of the largest in the country. The journey is split into two stages each way, with a night in Regensburg on the Danube, where you can also stroll through the Bavarian Christmas markets. To be clear, Český Krumlov is cobbled and hilly, and the castle interiors usually only open in the warmer months; the courtyards and viewpoints remain accessible.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Regensburg
- Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, at a time suited to your region.
- Comfortable coach journey: our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
- Free lunch on the way.
- Arrival in Regensburg in the late afternoon and check-in at the hotel.
- Free stroll at the Christmas market in the old town, near the cathedral.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Arrival in Český Krumlov
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to South Bohemia (about 3 hours).
- Arrival in Český Krumlov for lunch and check-in at the hotel for 2 nights.
- Seated lunch in a Czech restaurant (on request).
- Free afternoon at the Christmas market on the main square and in the illuminated lanes.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Český Krumlov and České Budějovice
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of the old town and the castle courtyards, with the view from the Cloak Bridge (on request).
- Short drive to České Budějovice (about 40 minutes).
- Seated lunch on Přemysl Otakar II Square (on request).
- Free time at the Christmas market on the great arcaded square, around the Samson Fountain.
- Visit of the Budějovický Budvar brewery (on request).
- Return to Český Krumlov in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Back to Regensburg
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Free morning in Český Krumlov for last purchases.
- Departure in the late morning and drive to Bavaria.
- Guided tour of Regensburg: Stone Bridge, St Peter’s Cathedral and old town (on request).
- Check-in at the hotel in Regensburg.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Departure in the morning.
- Return journey with regular breaks and free lunch on the way.

- Interior tours of Český Krumlov castle usually from April to October; christmas markets: from late November to late December, to be checked each year; bring warm clothing; currency: Czech koruna (CZK), bank cards very widely accepted.
