Two Christmas days in Holland: Haarlem and its Grote Markt, then Amsterdam and its illuminated canals during the Light Festival.

In winter, Amsterdam lights up for its Light Festival: luminous works by artists from around the world are reflected in the canals, to be enjoyed comfortably seated on a boat. Beforehand, your group stops in Haarlem, an elegant town of gabled façades, whose Grote Markt and St Bavo’s Church make an ideal Christmas setting. The next day, the capital invites you to stroll among decorated shop windows, illuminated bridges and seasonal markets. A single hotel night on half board and an unhurried pace let you fully enjoy the magic of the festive season. The coach drops off and picks up the group at authorised stops, as close as possible to the visits.

Day 1: Haarlem and the Light Festival

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Haarlem in the late morning.
  • Lunch booked in a restaurant (on request)
  • Guided tour of St Bavo’s Church and the festively decorated Grote Markt (on request)
  • Free time at the Christmas market and in Haarlem’s shopping streets, depending on the dates.
  • Drive to Amsterdam and check-in at the hotel for 1 night, dinner at the hotel.
  • Evening canal cruise to discover the works of the Light Festival (on request)

Day 2: Festive Amsterdam and return

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Panoramic coach tour, then free time in the decorated centre: Dam Square, Kalverstraat and the flower market.
  • Lunch booked in a restaurant (on request)
  • Return journey in the early afternoon.
  • Return to your region in the evening.

  • Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.

  • The Light Festival usually runs from late November to mid-January and the Haarlem Christmas market lasts only a few days: dates to be checked each year.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
