A Christmas day in Breda, just across the border: illuminated old town, Great Church, peaceful beguinage and tempting stalls.

Less than an hour from Antwerp, Breda is an ideal Christmas destination for a day without a long drive. Its flat, pedestrian old town is lit up during Advent, with stalls and festivities around the Grote Markt at the foot of the Great Church. Your group can discover the interior of this Gothic church and its Nassau tomb, then the beguinage, a haven of peace in the heart of the town. Between a warm lunch and a hot chocolate break, everyone enjoys free time in the shopping streets. The return is in the early evening, without fatigue.

Programme

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice; our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Coffee break on the way.
  • Arrival in Breda in the late morning.
  • Guided tour of the old town, the Great Church and the beguinage (on request).

  • Free time at the Christmas market and in the illuminated streets around the Grote Markt.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.
  • Times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; from 20 participants, on the date of your choice, price on quotation. Wheelchairs and reduced mobility: please let us know when booking.
  • Christmas markets and events in the Netherlands take place from late November to late December, to be checked each year: some last only a few days; bring warm clothing. Easy walking on flat ground, some cobbles.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
