A Christmas day at De Haar, the largest castle in the Netherlands, then the canals and Dom Tower of Utrecht at dusk.

With its neo-Gothic towers and moats, De Haar Castle near Utrecht is the largest castle in the Netherlands, and its Christmas fair turns it into a fairy-tale setting. Your group wanders among craft and food stalls in the illuminated courtyard and park, with the option of visiting the castle rooms decorated for the festive season. In the afternoon, the coach drops you in the centre of Utrecht, where the Dom Tower rises above canals lined with wharves and vaulted cellars. The castle park is large and the paths are gravel: everyone goes at their own pace, with warm breaks along the way. The return is in the evening, comfortably seated in the coach.

Programme

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice; our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.
  • Times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; from 20 participants, on the date of your choice, price on quotation. Wheelchairs and reduced mobility: please let us know when booking.
  • Christmas markets and events in the Netherlands take place from late November to late December, to be checked each year: some last only a few days; bring warm clothing. Admission to the castle Christmas fair is charged and involves walking on gravel paths; some dates sell out: book early.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
