Two days in Rouen: the Christmas market in front of the cathedral painted by Monet, the Gros-Horloge and the half-timbered old town.

Rouen, the historic capital of Normandy, sets up its Christmas market in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the façade Claude Monet painted more than thirty times. With one night on site, your group discovers the city without rushing: arrival for lunch, a guided tour in the afternoon, then an evening among the illuminated chalets. The next day, Rue du Gros-Horloge leads to Place du Vieux-Marché, where Joan of Arc was burnt in 1431, among restored half-timbered houses. The centre is compact and pedestrianised; it is cobbled in places and some streets climb gently, but the coach drops the group as close as possible. An ideal Christmas getaway for groups who love history and fine architecture.

Day 1: Journey to Rouen and Christmas market

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, at a time suited to your region.
  • Comfortable coach journey: our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Seated lunch in a restaurant in the centre of Rouen (on request).
  • Guided tour of the old town: Notre-Dame Cathedral, Aître Saint-Maclou and half-timbered streets (on request).
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Free time in the evening at the Christmas market in front of the cathedral.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Gros-Horloge, Vieux-Marché and return

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Stroll along Rue du Gros-Horloge, beneath the city’s astronomical clock.
  • Visit of the Historial Jeanne d’Arc (on request).
  • Free time on Place du Vieux-Marché and a last visit to the Christmas market.
  • Return journey in the early afternoon, with regular breaks.
  • Return in the evening to your region.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
