A Christmas day in Dutch Limburg: Roermond and its illuminated churches, then a peaceful stroll in Thorn, the white village.

Very close to the Belgian border, Roermond is a pretty cathedral town on the Meuse that celebrates in style during Advent. Your group discovers St Christopher’s Cathedral and the Munsterkerk, restored by the architect Pierre Cuypers, before enjoying the lights and Christmas stalls in the centre. Lunch is taken in the warm, without any rush. In the afternoon, the coach heads to Thorn, “the white village”, whose whitewashed houses and former abbey church make a gentle winter picture. The drive is short, leaving a relaxed day and a return in the early evening.

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice; our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.
  • Times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; from 20 participants, on the date of your choice, price on quotation. Wheelchairs and reduced mobility: please let us know when booking.
  • Christmas markets and events in the Netherlands take place from late November to late December, to be checked each year: some last only a few days; bring warm clothing. Easy walking; cobbles in the centre of Roermond and in Thorn.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
