Two days in Champagne during Advent: the Christmas market at the foot of Reims Cathedral, then the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay.

During Advent, the Reims Christmas market sets up at the foot of the coronation cathedral, whose Gothic façade towers over the illuminated chalets. Your group spends an afternoon and an evening there without hurrying, before heading to the hotel for dinner. The next day, the coach takes you to Épernay and its Avenue de Champagne, lined with prestigious houses and listed by UNESCO together with the Champagne hillsides and cellars. A cellar visit with tasting rounds off the trip beautifully. One night only, little driving and a gentle pace: the ideal getaway to get into the festive spirit.

Programme

Day 1: Reims and its Christmas market

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, at a time suited to your region.
  • Comfortable coach journey with breaks: our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Reims in the late morning and lunch booked in a brasserie in the centre (on request).
  • Guided tour of Notre-Dame Cathedral and its Chagall windows (on request).
  • Free time at the Christmas market at the foot of the cathedral, with mulled wine and pink biscuits of Reims.
  • Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Épernay and the Avenue de Champagne

  • Breakfast at the hotel, then a short drive to Épernay.
  • Stroll along the Avenue de Champagne and the façades of its champagne houses.
  • Visit of a champagne cellar followed by a tasting (on request).
  • Lunch booked in a restaurant in Épernay (on request).
  • Return journey in the early afternoon.
  • Return in the evening to your region.

  • Christmas markets run from late November to late December: dates and opening days to be checked each year; bring warm clothing.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
