Lille’s Christmas market at a gentle pace: chalets on Place Rihour, the big wheel on the Grand-Place and the illuminated lanes of Old Lille.

Less than two hours from many parts of Belgium, Lille is decked with lights during Advent. The Christmas market sets up on Place Rihour, at the foot of the Palais Rihour, with chalets of crafts, decorations and treats from France and beyond. On the nearby Grand-Place, the big wheel and the large Christmas tree offer a lovely view of the belfry and the Vieille Bourse. The lanes of Old Lille, with their decorated shop windows, invite a relaxed stroll. As the centre is flat and compact, everyone goes at their own pace, with a warm lunch and a return at a reasonable hour.

Programme

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, at a time suited to your region.
  • Comfortable coach journey with breaks: our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Lille in the late morning, drop-off near the Grand-Place.
  • Guided stroll through illuminated Old Lille, from the Vieille Bourse to the Treille Cathedral (on request).
  • Warm lunch booked in a brasserie in the centre, with northern specialities (on request).
  • Free time at the Christmas market on Place Rihour and around the big tree on the Grand-Place.
  • Ride on the big wheel to admire the rooftops of Lille at nightfall (on request).

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
