Antwerp at Christmas as a group: stalls on Grote Markt and Groenplaats, the Cathedral of Our Lady and Rubens’ paintings.

Antwerp celebrates Christmas in the heart of its old town. On the Grote Markt, the stalls surround the Brabo fountain, in front of the Renaissance City Hall and the guild houses with their gilded gables. A few steps away, the market continues on Groenplaats, at the foot of the Rubens statue and the spire of the Cathedral of Our Lady, which holds several of the painter’s masterpieces, including “The Elevation of the Cross” and “The Descent from the Cross”. Your group can also walk along the Scheldt to the Steen castle or admire the Central Station, and take home some “Antwerpse handjes”, the hand-shaped biscuits. Clubs, associations or groups of friends from 20 participants: departure from the place of your choice and a tailor-made programme.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required for every participant; departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point.
  • The Christmas market runs from late November to late December (sometimes into early January): dates to be checked each year.
  • Bring warm clothes and good shoes; the coach drops the group near the centre, which is explored on foot.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
