A 6-day stay in De Haan, a Belle Époque resort between dunes and sea, with Bruges, Ostend and the Coast Tram.

De Haan (Le Coq in French) is probably the most charming resort on the Belgian coast: no tall buildings, but Belle Époque villas with steep roofs, tucked between dunes and woods. Albert Einstein stayed here in 1933, and a statue recalls his visit. Your group enjoys five nights in a 3-star hotel with lift, on half board, with short excursions to Bruges and Ostend. A completely free day lets you rest, stroll along the seafront or take the Coast Tram. A gentle, peaceful stay to enjoy the sea air.

Programme

Day 1: Drive to De Haan

  • Morning departure from the place of your choice.
  • Drive to the coast (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
  • Check-in at the hotel for 5 nights and stroll on the seafront.

Day 2: De Haan, a Belle Époque resort

  • Guided walk through the Concessie district and its Belle Époque villas (on request)
  • Stop at the statue of Albert Einstein, who stayed in De Haan in 1933.
  • Free afternoon on the beach or on a café terrace.

Day 3: Bruges

  • Coach excursion to Bruges.
  • Guided tour of the historic centre (on request)
  • Lunch booked in a restaurant in the centre (on request)
  • Free time, then return to the hotel.

Day 4: Free day

  • Free day in De Haan (driver’s rest day).
  • Coast Tram pass to reach Wenduine or Ostend at your own pace (on request)

Day 5: Ostend

  • Excursion to Ostend: seafront promenade, Royal Galleries and harbour district.
  • Fish lunch in a harbour restaurant (on request)
  • Return to De Haan in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Return

  • Breakfast, then departure in the late morning.
  • Return journey (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
  • Arrival in your area in the afternoon.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required for each participant; departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (short, flat walks with frequent breaks).

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
