Four days on Lake Como: the Brunate funicular, a boat to Bellagio and Varenna, and the gardens of Villa Carlotta.
Surrounded by mountains and lined with villas and flower gardens, Lake Como has charmed generations of travellers. Your group first discovers the town of Como, its cathedral and its promenade, then rides the funicular up to the village of Brunate to admire the lake from above. The next day, a boat trip links the loveliest villages on the lake: Bellagio, nicknamed the “pearl of the lake”, Varenna with its colourful houses, and Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, famous for its azaleas and rhododendrons. The boat avoids long walks and leaves time to enjoy the scenery. Two drivers take turns on the outward and return journeys, and dinner is served at the hotel every evening.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Lake Como
- Early morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Route through Luxembourg, Alsace and Switzerland, then the Gotthard tunnel.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in the Como area in the evening and check-in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Como and the Brunate funicular
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of Como: cathedral, old town and lakeside promenade (on request).
- Funicular ride up to Brunate for the view over the lake and the Alps (on request).
- Lunch in a restaurant in Como (on request).
- Free time to stroll around Piazza Cavour and the town's silk shops.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Bellagio, Varenna and Villa Carlotta
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Day trip by boat on the lake (on request).
- Visit to the gardens of Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo (on request).
- Lunch in Bellagio (on request), then free time in its lanes.
- Stop in Varenna for a walk along the water.
- Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Return to your region in the evening.
