Seven days between the Karst plateau and the Adriatic: underground rivers, Lipizzaner horses, salt pans and Venetian towns.

The Slovenian Karst gave its name to karst landscapes all over the world: it is the ideal place to understand how water shapes limestone. Pupils observe the intermittent Lake Cerknica, then the underground canyon of the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the Lipica Stud Farm, founded in 1580, they discover the history of the Lipizzaner horses, linked to the Habsburg court. On the coast, Koper and Piran tell the story of centuries of Venetian presence, while the Sečovlje salt pans show a traditional craft in the heart of a bird reserve. A trip for geography, biology and history lessons in secondary school.
