Nine days in Upper Bavaria: King Ludwig’s castles, Munich, Oberammergau, the Wies Church and Chiemsee, with overnight stops.

At the foot of the Alps, Upper Bavaria brings together mountains, lakes, villages with painted façades and the fairy-tale castles of King Ludwig II. To keep the trip restful, the journey is broken by an overnight stop in the Stuttgart area on the way out and back, and your group stays six nights in the same hotel in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. The programme includes Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, the UNESCO-listed baroque Wies Church, a day in Munich and a cruise on Lake Chiemsee to Herrenchiemsee Palace. Oberammergau, famous for its frescoes and Passion Play, adds a touch of tradition. A free day at the foot of the Zugspitze, without the coach, gives everyone a breather between discoveries.
