Two days in North Brabant: the magic of Efteling and its fairy tales, then the savannah and its animals at Safaripark Beekse Bergen.

Opened in 1952, Efteling is one of the oldest theme parks in Europe; its Fairy Tale Forest, designed with the illustrator Anton Pieck, brings to life stories by Grimm, Andersen and Perrault. Pupils rediscover tales studied in class before enjoying the rides and shows. The next day, at Safaripark Beekse Bergen, they watch giraffes, zebras, lions and rhinos in wide open spaces and learn about the role of zoos in protecting species. This one-night trip, ideal at the end of the school year, also builds independence and group spirit. It suits pupils aged about 8 to 14.

Programme

Day 1: Efteling, the world of fairy tales

  • Departure from your school at the agreed time.
  • Safety: our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, by day and by night.
  • Drive to Kaatsheuvel in North Brabant.
  • Arrival at Efteling and discovery of the Fairy Tale Forest (Sprookjesbos).
  • Picnic.
  • Afternoon of rides and shows, in small groups with meeting points set by the teachers.
  • Check-in at the accommodation in the area and dinner.

Day 2: Safaripark Beekse Bergen

  • Breakfast.
  • Short drive to Hilvarenbeek and arrival at Safaripark Beekse Bergen.
  • Exploring the park on foot: African savannah, giraffes, zebras and big cats.
  • Safari by bus or boat through the park (on request).
  • Educational workshop on species conservation (on request).
  • Picnic, then return journey.
  • Return to school at the end of the day.

Good to know

  • Each pupil needs an identity card (Kids-ID for under-12s) and parental permission to travel abroad.
  • Bring each pupil's European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
  • Park opening days vary by season and should be checked; bring rain gear and comfortable shoes.
  • Times are adapted to your school; pupils are supervised by their teachers.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
