Two days in Arnhem: the rainforest, desert and ocean of Burgers' Zoo, then life in the past at the Netherlands Open Air Museum.
Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem is known for its large indoor ecosystems: the Bush rainforest, the North American desert and the ocean, where visitors walk beneath a coral reef. Pupils observe how plants and animals adapt to their habitat. The next day, at the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum, they travel back in time among farms, windmills, workshops and houses brought from all over the country, to understand everyday life in the past. This one-night trip links natural science and history while building group spirit. It suits pupils aged about 8 to 14.
