Two days in the Rhineland: Cologne Cathedral and the Chocolate Museum, then Bonn, Beethoven and post-war German history.

Less than two hours from Belgium, Cologne and Bonn make an ideal first trip with an overnight stay. Cologne Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece listed by UNESCO, impresses with its twin spires and stained-glass windows. The Chocolate Museum follows cocoa all the way to the bar, a concrete approach to science and economics. In Bonn, former capital of the Federal Republic, the House of History traces Germany since 1945, while Beethoven’s birthplace adds a musical touch. This trip suits pupils aged 10 to 15, particularly for history, German and music lessons.
