A princely day in Chantilly: château and Condé Museum, the Great Stables and an equestrian show, not forgetting Chantilly cream.

Surrounded by water and gardens designed by Le Nôtre, the Château de Chantilly houses the Condé Museum, one of the richest collections of old master paintings in France after the Louvre. The Duke of Aumale bequeathed it to the Institut de France on condition that nothing be moved: the paintings still hang as in the 19th century. Nearby, the Great Stables, a true palace for horses, are home to the Horse Museum and dressage demonstrations. Lunch is a chance to taste real Chantilly cream, born here according to tradition. Your coach parks close to the estate, and a little train can link the sites to avoid long walks.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.

  • Walking level: easy to moderate (gravel paths in the park; little train possible).
  • The estate is closed on Tuesdays; times of equestrian demonstrations and of the little train to be checked depending on the season.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
