Seven days in Brittany: Carnac’s menhirs, the Gulf of Morbihan, Concarneau, Quimper, the Pointe du Raz and Océanopolis in Brest.
This tour introduces pupils to a Brittany rich in history and turned towards the ocean. The Carnac stones, thousands of menhirs raised more than 5,000 years ago, raise the big questions of prehistory. In Concarneau, the walled Ville Close and the Fishing Museum tell the story of seafarers, while Quimper and Locronan show Breton architecture and traditions. The Pointe du Raz, at the western tip of the continent, and Océanopolis in Brest, devoted to the oceans, address coastal geography and marine biodiversity. This trip suits pupils from the last years of primary school to secondary school, in history, geography and science.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Brittany
- Departure from your school at the agreed time, with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
- Arrival in the Vannes area at the end of the day.
- Check-in at the accommodation and dinner.
Day 2: Carnac and the Gulf of Morbihan
- Breakfast.
- Discovery of the Carnac stone alignments.
- Guided tour of the alignments with the Maison des Mégalithes (on request).
- Boat trip in the Gulf of Morbihan (on request).
- Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.
Day 3: Concarneau
- Breakfast.
- Drive to Finistère and walk through the Ville Close of Concarneau.
- Visit of the Fishing Museum in Concarneau (on request).
- Check-in in the Quimper area.
- Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.
Day 4: Quimper
- Breakfast.
- A day on foot, without the coach (driver’s rest day).
- Discovery of Quimper on foot: Saint-Corentin Cathedral, the old town and the banks of the Odet.
- Visit of the Breton Departmental Museum (on request).
- Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.
Day 5: Pointe du Raz and Locronan
- Breakfast.
- Walk at the Grand Site of the Pointe du Raz.
- Stop in Locronan, a granite village with old houses.
- Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.
Day 6: Brest and Océanopolis
- Breakfast.
- Visit of Océanopolis, the ocean discovery park in Brest (on request).
- Dinner and overnight at the accommodation.
Day 7: Return
- Breakfast.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
- Return to school in the evening.

Good to know
- Identity card (Kids-ID for children under 12) and parental consent for travel abroad for each pupil, as well as the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
- Times adapted to your school; pupils are supervised by the accompanying teachers.
- Wind and rain are common on the coast: bring a waterproof jacket and good walking shoes.
