A breath of sea air in Boulogne-sur-Mer: the Nausicaá aquarium, the fortified upper town and the scenic road to Cap Gris-Nez.

Boulogne-sur-Mer, France’s leading fishing port, offers a varied day full of sea air. Nausicaá, the national sea centre and one of the largest aquariums in Europe, is visited on level ground, with plenty of benches in front of the large tanks. The upper town, encircled by 13th-century ramparts, is home to the UNESCO-listed belfry and the domed Notre-Dame Basilica. In the afternoon, the coach takes the coastal road to Cap Gris-Nez, where the English cliffs can be seen on a clear day. A fish or mussel lunch completes this outdoor day, with no long walks.

Programme

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, at a time suited to your region.
  • Comfortable coach journey with breaks: our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the late morning and visit of Nausicaá, its tanks and its penguins (on request).
  • Fish or mussel lunch booked near the harbour (on request).
  • Coach tour of the upper town, then a short guided walk at the foot of the belfry and Notre-Dame Basilica (on request).
  • Scenic Opal Coast road via Wimereux and Ambleteuse to Cap Gris-Nez.
  • Stop at Cap Gris-Nez to enjoy the view over the Channel and, on a clear day, the English coast.
  • Return in the evening to your region.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
