Five days in Amsterdam to discover Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Anne Frank’s story and hands-on science at NEMO.
This trip introduces pupils to the Dutch capital, its 17th-century canals listed by UNESCO and its rich merchant past. At the Rijksmuseum they stand before Rembrandt’s Night Watch, and the Van Gogh Museum opens up the work of a painter many already know. The Anne Frank House and the Jewish Cultural Quarter address the Second World War and the Holocaust in a way teenagers can relate to. NEMO, the ship-shaped science museum, and the windmills of the Zaanse Schans add a more playful side. The programme is particularly suited to secondary school history, art and Dutch lessons.
