In Amiens, pupils visit the largest Gothic cathedral in France, discover the floating gardens and step into Jules Verne’s house.
Amiens brings together art, nature and literature in a single day. Its Notre-Dame cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Gothic cathedral in France, and its carved portals read like a comic strip in stone. By boat, pupils discover the hortillonnages, market gardens surrounded by canals and a fine example of the link between people and their environment. Jules Verne’s house, where the writer lived, immerses them in the world of his Extraordinary Voyages. The trip is ideal for the last two years of primary school and the first years of secondary school, in history, science or French.
