A day of remembrance in Ypres: Tyne Cot Cemetery, the In Flanders Fields Museum and the Menin Gate.
Ypres and its surroundings keep alive the memory of the First World War battles in the Ypres Salient. In the morning, your group pays its respects at Tyne Cot, the largest Commonwealth war cemetery in the world, where nearly 12,000 soldiers lie. After a booked lunch on the Grote Markt, the In Flanders Fields Museum, housed in the rebuilt Cloth Hall, brings the war to life through moving testimonies. The day ends at the Menin Gate, engraved with the names of more than 54,000 missing soldiers. A day full of emotion, at a calm pace, with the coach as close as possible to each site.
