The water gardens of Annevoie, where fountains and cascades flow without pumps, then Maredsous Abbey, its cheese and beer.
Between Namur and Dinant, the gardens of Annevoie are a small 18th-century miracle: their fountains, cascades and jets work without a single pump, using only the natural slope. Your group strolls gently among hedges and ornamental ponds, with benches to enjoy the peace. In the afternoon, the coach climbs up to the Benedictine abbey of Maredsous, a large neo-Gothic church overlooking the Molignée valley. The abbey’s visitor centre offers its famous cheese, bread and beer, to be enjoyed seated on the terrace or indoors. Please note the gardens lie on a hillside: some paths climb a little, but you can stay on the lower parts.
