Oudenaarde at your own pace: Gothic town hall, famous tapestries, the Tour of Flanders and the hills of the Flemish Ardennes.

On the banks of the Scheldt, Oudenaarde is a charming small Flemish town, perfect for a relaxed day out. Its Gothic town hall, whose belfry is a UNESCO World Heritage site, houses the MOU museum and the tapestries that made the town famous. Cycling fans can visit the Tour of Flanders Centre, while others prefer a café terrace on the market square. In the afternoon, your coach drives gently through the hills of the Flemish Ardennes, with their famous cobbled climbs and green meadows. The centre is flat and compact: there is little walking, always at your own pace.

Programme

  • Morning departure from the place of your choice.
  • Drive to Oudenaarde, with a coffee break on the way (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
  • Guided tour of the town hall and the tapestries of the MOU museum (on request).
  • Gentle stroll across the market square to the Church of Our Lady of Pamele, on the banks of the Scheldt.
  • Seated lunch in a restaurant in the centre (on request).
  • Visit to the Tour of Flanders Centre, dedicated to the famous cycle race (on request).
  • Scenic coach tour of the Flemish Ardennes, via the cobbled climbs of the Oude Kwaremont and the Koppenberg.
  • Tasting of regional beers at a local brewery (on request).
  • Return to your region in the evening.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required for each participant; departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (flat, compact centre; some cobblestones on the market square).
  • Wheelchair users or guests with reduced mobility: please let us know when booking so that we can adapt the programme.
  • The Tour of Flanders Centre and the MOU museum have their own closing days: dates to be checked when booking.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
