De Haar Castle, the largest in the Netherlands, and its gardens, then Utrecht, its two-level canals and the Dom Tower.

Just outside Utrecht, De Haar Castle looks as if it came out of a fairy tale: rebuilt at the end of the 19th century on the ruins of a medieval fortress, it is the largest castle in the Netherlands. Its richly furnished rooms and vast park, with a rose garden and ponds, are explored at a gentle pace. In the afternoon, Utrecht reveals its canals lined with low wharves, where old merchants’ cellars now house terraces and cafés. A cruise on the Oudegracht lets you admire them without walking, at the foot of the Dom Tower, the tallest church tower in the country. The pace is relaxed and the coach drops the group as close as possible to each visit.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is recommended.

  • Walking level: moderate (walks around town, some cobblestones and steps).
  • De Haar Castle is closed on some days and during events: opening to be checked for your date.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
