Four days in Alsace: Strasbourg’s cathedral and Petite France, a river cruise, Colmar’s Little Venice and Riquewihr.
Alsace charms visitors with its flower-decked half-timbered houses, generous cuisine and warm-hearted people. In Strasbourg, Notre-Dame Cathedral and its astronomical clock, then the UNESCO-listed Petite France quarter, are explored on foot or from the water during a commented cruise. A day on the Wine Route takes you to the Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle, the village of Riquewihr and Colmar, where a boat glides past the colourful houses of Little Venice. A winery will let you taste Riesling and Gewurztraminer, in moderation. Three nights in the same hotel on half board: you unpack only once and simply enjoy.
Programme
Day 1: Drive to Strasbourg
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Drive to Alsace with regular breaks: our drivers drive no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
- Lunch at a restaurant on the way (on request).
- Arrival in Strasbourg in mid-afternoon, check-in at the hotel for three nights.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Strasbourg, the cathedral and Petite France
- Breakfast, then guided tour of Notre-Dame Cathedral and the old town (on request).
- Presentation of the cathedral’s astronomical clock (on request).
- Lunch in a traditional winstub (on request).
- Commented cruise on the Ill, from Petite France to the European quarter (on request).
- Free time in Petite France, then return to the hotel and dinner.
Day 3: Haut-Kœnigsbourg, Riquewihr and Colmar
- Breakfast and drive to southern Alsace.
- Visit of the Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle (on request).
- Stop in Riquewihr, a wine village with colourful houses.
- Lunch at a restaurant in Colmar (on request).
- Boat trip through Colmar’s Little Venice (on request).
- Tasting of Alsace wines at a winegrower’s (on request).
- Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and dinner.
Day 4: Return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Free time in Strasbourg for last purchases, pretzels and kougelhopf.
- Return journey in the late morning with regular breaks.
- Lunch at a restaurant on the way (on request).
- Return to your region in the evening.

- The Strasbourg cruise and the Colmar boats run for most of the year, times to be checked according to the season; from late November to late December, the trip is possible during the Christmas markets.
