Two days in Amiens: France’s largest Gothic cathedral, a boat trip through the floating gardens and the world of Jules Verne.
Amiens is a gentle, green city, perfect for an easy two-day getaway. Its Notre-Dame Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Gothic cathedral in France, and its carved façade impresses even seasoned travellers. The Saint-Leu quarter, with its little colourful houses by the water, is made for strolling. The next day, a traditional flat-bottomed boat takes you effortlessly into the hortillonnages, floating gardens cultivated since the Middle Ages. Book lovers will visit the house where Jules Verne lived and wrote, before a Picardy lunch and a relaxed journey home.
Programme
Day 1: The cathedral and Saint-Leu
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Drive to Amiens with regular breaks: our drivers drive no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
- Lunch at a restaurant in the Saint-Leu quarter (on request).
- Guided tour of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Amiens (on request).
- Gentle walk along the Saint-Leu canals and tasting of Amiens macarons (on request).
- Check-in at the hotel and dinner.

Day 2: Floating gardens, Jules Verne and return
