An 8-day tour of vineyards and castles: Roman Trier, the Moselle at Cochem, the Rhine at Rüdesheim and the Palatinate Wine Route.
Close to Belgium, the Rhine, the Moselle and the Palatinate form one of Europe’s finest wine regions. Trier, Germany’s oldest city, reveals the Porta Nigra and its UNESCO-listed Roman monuments, before the meanders of the Moselle, where Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem, crowned by its imperial castle, line up half-timbered houses and Riesling cellars. On the Romantic Rhine, Rüdesheim invites you to stroll down the Drosselgasse, ride up to the Niederwald Monument and sail to the Loreley rock. The tour ends on the German Wine Route in the Palatinate, among wine villages, Hambach Castle and the imperial cathedral of Speyer. A tour for food and wine lovers with no long drives, including a free day among the vineyards.
