Day 1 : Journey to Weimar

• Morning departure from the location of your choice.
• Drive to Thuringia, with regular stops along the way.
• Arrival in Weimar in the afternoon and a walk through the centre, past the Goethe and Schiller Monument.

Day 2 : Leipzig

• Drive to Leipzig.
• Guided walking tour of Leipzig: St Thomas Church, where Bach was cantor, St Nicholas Church and the Market Square (on request).
• Discovery of the Monument to the Battle of the Nations.
• Check-in at a hotel in the Leipzig area.
• Group dinner at Auerbachs Keller (on request).

Day 3 : Meissen and Dresden

• Drive to Meissen, its cathedral and Albrechtsburg Castle overlooking the Elbe.
• Visit to the Meissen porcelain manufactory (on request).
• In the afternoon, drive to Dresden and a first walk along the Brühl Terrace.
• Check-in at a hotel in the Dresden area.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 4 : Dresden

• Guided walking tour of Dresden: the Frauenkirche, the Zwinger, the Semperoper and the Procession of Princes (on request).
• Visit to the Old Masters Picture Gallery in the Zwinger (on request).
• Paddle steamer cruise on the Elbe (on request).
• Return to the hotel.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 5 : Saxon Switzerland and journey to Berlin

• Drive to Saxon Switzerland and a walk to the Bastei Bridge, high above the Elbe.
• Visit to Königstein Fortress (on request).
• In the afternoon, drive to Berlin.
• Check-in at a hotel in the Berlin area.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 6 : Historic Berlin

• Guided walking tour of the historic centre: the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and Unter den Linden (on request).
• Discovery of Museum Island and Berlin Cathedral.
• Visit to the Reichstag dome (on request).
• Guided cruise on the Spree (on request).
• Return to the hotel.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 7 : Berlin and the Wall

• The Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Straße, then Checkpoint Charlie.
• Walk along the East Side Gallery, the longest remaining section of the Wall.
• Free time on the Kurfürstendamm or at Potsdamer Platz.
• Farewell group dinner in a Berlin restaurant (on request).

Day 8 : Potsdam and return

• Drive to Potsdam and discovery of Sanssouci Park.
• Visit to Sanssouci Palace, the summer residence of Frederick the Great (on request).
• Return journey in the late morning, with regular stops along the way.
• Arrival back in your region in the evening.
