A 7-day tour based in Jaca: the citadel, Ordesa National Park, Aínsa, the monastery of San Juan de la Peña and Canfranc.
On the other side of the Somport pass, the Aragonese Pyrenees hide magnificent valleys and an exceptional Romanesque heritage. Your group stays 4 nights in Jaca, a lively little town at the foot of the mountains, with its star-shaped citadel and one of the oldest Romanesque cathedrals in Spain. One day leads to Ordesa National Park, where an easy walk along the valley floor is enough to admire the cliffs, then to the medieval village of Aínsa. You also discover the monastery of San Juan de la Peña, nestled beneath a huge rock, and the vast international railway station of Canfranc. The route runs via Bordeaux and Pau, with a stopover night in the Poitiers area on the way out and back.
