Twelve days in south-eastern Poland: Łańcut, the Leżajsk organ, Krasiczyn, Przemyśl, Sanok and Lake Solina.
South-eastern Poland, at the foot of the Carpathians, is a region of green hills, aristocratic castles and wooden churches where Polish and Ruthenian traditions mingle. Your group visits Łańcut Castle and its remarkable carriage collection, the basilica of Leżajsk and its baroque organ, the Renaissance castle of Krasiczyn and Przemyśl, a terraced town on the San. In Sanok, one of Poland’s largest open-air museums recreates the villages and churches of the region, while the castle houses icons and works by the painter Beksiński. In the Bieszczady, wild and sparsely populated mountains, Lake Solina and the UNESCO-listed wooden churches complete the trip. Stopovers near Dresden and Kraków, only two hotels on site and a free day make this long journey comfortable.
