Eight days in southern Poland: royal Kraków, Wieliczka Salt Mine and Zakopane at the foot of the Tatras.
Former capital of the Polish kings, Kraków came through the centuries without major destruction, and its centre was one of the first sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Your group discovers Wawel Hill, the vast Market Square and the Cloth Hall, then the Kazimierz district. Underground, Wieliczka Salt Mine reveals chapels carved in salt, with a return to the surface by lift. The trip ends in Zakopane, capital of the Tatras, where the Gubałówka funicular offers a wide panorama of the peaks. An overnight stop near Dresden on the way out and back, three nights in the same hotel in Kraków and two in Zakopane keep the pace relaxed.
