Three days in eastern Luxembourg: Echternach and its basilica, the Mullerthal rocks, Beaufort and Larochette castles, and Vianden.
This three-day stay with a single hotel lets you discover one of the Grand Duchy’s most beautiful regions without repacking your suitcase. Echternach, the country’s oldest town, offers its Basilica of Saint Willibrord, its market square and a lake with a level path around it. In the Mullerthal, known as Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland, the coach winds between forests and sandstone rocks, with stops in Beaufort and Larochette, whose castles overlook the valleys. On the last day, Vianden and its fairy-tale castle on the Our are explored at your own pace, chairlift included for those who wish. Short drives, half board and reserved lunches make the stay restful.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Echternach
- Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice; our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in Echternach in late morning.
- Reserved lunch at a restaurant in Echternach (on request).
- Guided tour of the Basilica of Saint Willibrord and its crypt (on request).
- Stroll on the market square, then around Echternach lake along a level path.
- Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Mullerthal, Beaufort and Larochette
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Scenic drive through the Mullerthal and stop at the Schiessentümpel waterfall.
- Visit to the ruins of Beaufort Castle (on request).
- Reserved lunch at a restaurant in the Mullerthal (on request).
- Visit to Larochette Castle (on request).
- Free time in the village of Larochette, at the foot of its castle.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Vianden and return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Vianden in the Our valley.
- Guided tour of Vianden Castle (on request).
- Chairlift ride above the town (on request).
- Reserved lunch at a restaurant in Vianden (on request).
- Departure in early afternoon.
- Return to your region in the evening.
