Six days in Normandy from a single hotel in Bayeux: Honfleur, the D-Day beaches, Mont-Saint-Michel and the Pays d’Auge.
Normandy is best discovered at a gentle pace, from a single hotel in Bayeux: no need to repack every morning. Your group strolls around the Old Harbour in Honfleur, follows the footsteps of 6 June 1944 from Arromanches to the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, then discovers the unforgettable silhouette of Mont-Saint-Michel. One day is devoted to the Pays d’Auge, its half-timbered houses, its cider and the famous boardwalk in Deauville. Coach journeys remain short, with guided visits and free time to sit on a café terrace. A moving programme, at everyone’s own pace.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Normandy and Honfleur
- Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Afternoon stop in Honfleur: stroll around the Old Harbour and the wooden church of St Catherine.
- Check-in at the hotel in the Bayeux area for 5 nights, dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: The D-Day beaches
- Arromanches and the remains of the artificial harbour, seen from the cliff top.
- Screening at the Arromanches 360 circular cinema (on request).
- Lunch booked in a restaurant on the coast (on request) or free lunch.
- Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, a moment of remembrance.
- Guided tour of the D-Day beaches with a local guide (on request).
- Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 3: Mont-Saint-Michel
- Drive to the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel (about 1 hr 45).
- Shuttle to the foot of the Mount, then free walk up the Grande Rue.
- Guided tour of the abbey (many steps) (on request).
- Free lunch in the village, or a traditional omelette at a restaurant (on request).
- Free time and return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Free day in Bayeux
- Free day on foot in Bayeux (driver’s rest day).
- Stroll through the old town, along the river Aure and its mills.
- Visit of Bayeux Cathedral.
- Visit of the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy (on request).
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: The Pays d’Auge and Deauville
- Drive to Beuvron-en-Auge, one of the most beautiful villages in France, with its half-timbered houses.
- Visit of a cider farm with tasting of cider, pommeau and calvados (on request).
- Lunch booked in the Pays d’Auge (on request) or free lunch.
- Walk along the Deauville boardwalk and free time in Trouville.
- Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 6: Rouen and return
- Breakfast and departure from the hotel.
- Stop in Rouen: free time around the cathedral and the Gros-Horloge, free lunch.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Return in the evening to your region.
