Seven days in the Ardèche and Drôme for your group: Pont d’Arc, Chauvet Cave 2, Grignan, Montélimar nougat and the Facteur Cheval.
On the doorstep of Provence, the Ardèche and the Drôme Provençale offer southern light, hilltop villages and cooking scented with olive oil. Your group stays four nights in the Montélimar area, capital of nougat, after an overnight stop in Burgundy to break the journey. The Ardèche Gorges are discovered from the viewpoints along the scenic road, and Chauvet Cave 2 effortlessly recreates some of the oldest known cave paintings. Grignan and its château, home of Madame de Sévigné’s daughter, and Nyons with its olive groves make for a gentle Provençal day. On the way back, the Facteur Cheval’s Ideal Palace, built by hand over 33 years, ends the trip on a note of wonder.
