At Nausicaá, one of the largest aquariums in Europe, pupils discover marine life and the protection of the oceans.
Nausicaá, the French National Sea Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer, is one of the largest aquariums in Europe. Sharks, rays, sea lions, penguins and jellyfish are shown in tanks that recreate their habitats, including a huge open-ocean tank viewed through a vast glass window. Throughout the visit, pupils learn about the link between people and the sea, sustainable fishing and the protection of the oceans. Before heading home, a walk on the ramparts of the old town offers a fine view of the town and its belfry, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An outing for all ages, from the first year of primary school to the end of secondary school, in science and geography.
