Masuria and Warmia: Elbląg Canal, the Masurian Lakes and Święta Lipka Basilica (11 days)

Day 1: Journey into Germany

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Drive to eastern Germany via Hanover, arriving in the Berlin area in the late afternoon.
• Overnight stop along the way, with dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Arrival in Warmia

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Drive to Olsztyn via Toruń, with a lunch break on the way.
• Check-in at the hotel in Olsztyn for 4 nights.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Olsztyn, Copernicus’s town

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Guided tour of the Old Town and the Warmian Chapter Castle, where Copernicus lived (on request).
• Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
• Free afternoon to stroll along the Łyna river.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: The Elbląg Canal

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Drive to the Elbląg Canal (about 1 hour).
• Cruise on the section of the slipways, where boats cross the hills on carriages pulled along rails (on request).
• Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
• The coach waits for you at the landing stage for the return to Olsztyn.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Free day in Olsztyn

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Free day on foot in Olsztyn (driver’s rest day): Old Town, St James’s Cathedral and waterside parks.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Święta Lipka and Mikołajki

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Drive to Święta Lipka and visit to its Baroque basilica, a major pilgrimage site.
• Demonstration of the organ with moving figures (on request).
• Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
• Drive to Mikołajki, in the heart of the great lakes.
• Check-in at the hotel in Mikołajki for 3 nights.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Cruise on the great lakes

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Cruise on the great Masurian lakes between Mikołajki and Giżycko (on request).
• Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
• Return by coach to Mikołajki and free time at the harbour.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Ryn Castle

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Free morning in Mikołajki.
• Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
• In the afternoon, short coach excursion to Ryn and its Teutonic Knights’ castle on the lakeshore.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Journey to Toruń

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Drive to Toruń (about 4 hours), Copernicus’s birthplace, and a late-afternoon stroll in the Old Town.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Journey back into Germany

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Drive west via Poznań, with a lunch break on the way.
• Overnight stop in the Berlin area, with dinner at the hotel.

Day 11: Return to Belgium

• Breakfast, then the last leg of the journey to Belgium.
• Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Arrival back in your region in the evening.
