Two days on the trail of the Second World War in Luxembourg: Diekirch, Wiltz, Clervaux and the American Cemetery at Hamm.

Occupied and then effectively annexed by Nazi Germany, Luxembourg was also a battlefield during the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-1945. In Diekirch, the National Museum of Military History presents the battle through reconstructed scenes, vehicles and everyday objects of soldiers and civilians. In Wiltz, the National Strike Monument recalls the 1942 strike against the forced conscription of young Luxembourgers into the German army, and in Clervaux the castle houses the photographic exhibition The Family of Man, listed in UNESCO’s Memory of the World register. The trip ends at the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Hamm, where General Patton is buried. It is aimed mainly at history and citizenship lessons in secondary school.
