The 19 UNESCO-listed windmills of Kinderdijk, then Rotterdam by boat and its Markthal: two faces of Holland in one day.

This excursion combines the Holland of yesterday and that of tomorrow. At Kinderdijk, nineteen 18th-century windmills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stand along the drainage canals: a boat glides quietly past them and two museum mills show the life of the millers. In the afternoon, Rotterdam reveals its bold architecture, from the Erasmus Bridge to the Cube Houses. A guided cruise in the harbour, one of the largest in Europe, is enjoyed seated and under cover. Before heading home, the Markthal with its huge painted ceiling invites a last tasty break.

Programme

  • A valid identity card is required and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is recommended.
  • Departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point; price on quotation, from 20 participants.
  • Walking level: easy (short walks on flat ground, frequent breaks).
  • At Kinderdijk the paths are flat but in the open air: bring a windproof jacket.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
