Huy, its Gothic collegiate church and Li Bassinia fountain on the Meuse, then Modave Castle and its sculpted ceilings.

Nestled on the banks of the Meuse, Huy is a friendly little Mosan town, overlooked by its fort and by the collegiate church of Notre-Dame, whose great rose window is nicknamed “li Rondia”. Your group strolls across the Grand-Place, around the bronze fountain Li Bassinia, then along the river, with no great distances to cover. In the afternoon, the coach follows the Hoyoux valley up to Modave Castle, perched on a rocky spur. Its 17th-century salons are decorated with remarkably fine stucco ceilings, and the terrace offers a lovely view over the valley. A simple, comfortable day of Walloon heritage, close to home.

  • Drive through the Hoyoux valley to Modave.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required for each participant; departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (flat centre of Huy; a few steps and stairs in the castle).
  • Wheelchair users or guests with reduced mobility: please let us know when booking so that we can adapt the programme.
  • Modave Castle opens seasonally (usually April to mid-November): days and times to be checked each year.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
