A peaceful day in Haarlem: the organ of the Grote Kerk, the portraits of Frans Hals and the hidden gardens of the hofjes.
Haarlem is a human-sized town, flat and easy to explore, ideal for a day without fatigue. On the Grote Markt, the Grote Kerk of St Bavo houses the famous Müller organ, which Mozart played at the age of ten. The Frans Hals Museum, set in a former almshouse for old men, displays the group portraits of the Golden Age master. Tucked away along the lanes, the hofjes, the flower-filled courtyards of old almshouses, offer calm and charming stops. Your group enjoys a seated lunch, keeps free time for a coffee on a terrace and returns without hurrying.
