Three days in Ghent and Antwerp: the Mystic Lamb, the Lys quays, Rubens’s cathedral and the view from the MAS.
Ghent and Antwerp, two great Flemish cities an hour’s drive apart, are perfect for an unhurried break. In Ghent, your group discovers St Bavo’s Cathedral and its famous Ghent Altarpiece, the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the Van Eyck brothers, then the Graslei and Korenlei quays, best seen from a boat. Antwerp reveals its Grote Markt and Brabo Fountain, the Cathedral of Our Lady with its paintings by Rubens, and the view over the city and port from the roof of the MAS. Visits are guided and broken up by breaks, with free time for a waffle or a local beer on a terrace. Two nights in the same hotel with a lift mean no repacking.
