Five days in the Famenne and Ardennes: Saint-Hubert Basilica, Fourneau Saint-Michel, Redu, Lorette cave and Maredsous.
Between the great forests of the Ardennes and the gentle countryside of the Famenne, this trip takes time to savour Wallonia. Your group discovers Saint-Hubert and its basilica devoted to the patron saint of hunters, then the Fourneau Saint-Michel, an open-air museum of rural Walloon life. Redu, the book village, invites you to browse the second-hand bookshops, while Rochefort reveals its Lorette cave and Lavaux-Sainte-Anne Castle. A free half-day lets you catch your breath, and the way home passes Maredsous Abbey, with its cheese and beer. The outdoor sites and the cave involve some walking and a few stairs: anyone may choose to stay and relax.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Saint-Hubert
- Departure in the morning from the pick-up point of your choice.
- Coffee break on the way; our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in Saint-Hubert in the late morning.
- Reserved lunch in Saint-Hubert (on request).
- Guided tour of the Basilica of Saint-Hubert (on request).
- Free time in the small town.
- Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Fourneau Saint-Michel and Redu
- Breakfast at the hotel.

- Afternoon in Redu, the book village: free time in the second-hand bookshops.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Rochefort and Lavaux-Sainte-Anne

Day 5: Maredsous Abbey and return

- Drive to the Molignée valley.

- Return journey in the afternoon, arriving back in your area in the evening.

- A valid identity card is required; departure and return times are adapted to your pick-up point.
- Walking level: moderate (cobbled streets and a few slopes, at a gentle pace; comfortable shoes recommended).

- The Lorette cave and the Fourneau Saint-Michel are open mainly from April to October (to be checked each year).
