A day in the Ourthe valley: the lanes of Durbuy, its topiary park and La Roche-en-Ardenne below its castle.
Durbuy proudly calls itself “the smallest town in the world”: its cobbled lanes and grey stone houses are best explored on a leisurely stroll. Next door, the topiary park displays more than 250 shrubs clipped into figures and animals, along easy paths. After a booked lunch, the coach follows the Ourthe valley up to La Roche-en-Ardenne, nestled below the ruins of its feudal castle. Free time lets you browse the shops of local produce, from Ardennes ham to cheeses and jams. A gentle day of nature, without long walks.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Drive to Durbuy (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
- Guided stroll through the lanes of Durbuy’s old town (on request)
- Visit of the topiary park on the banks of the Ourthe.
- Lunch booked in a restaurant in the area (on request)
- Drive through the Ourthe valley to La Roche-en-Ardenne.
- Free time below the ruins of the feudal castle and in the local produce shops.
- Tasting of Ardennes produce: ham, cheeses and local beer (on request)
- Departure in the late afternoon and return to your area in the evening.
